Watch: Lana Condor and Brenda Song share a ‘suite’ moment
The stars come together for in-depth talks about Asian representation in the media
What happens when two prominent and accomplished AAPI actresses get together via Zoom and talk shop about their latest endeavors and how far Asian Americans have come in the industry? You get pure magic.
In this ultra ‘suite’ interview for Character Media, Condor sits down with the “Dollface” star for the first time in a virtual setting. Condor’s “Moonshot” co-star, Cole Sprouse [“Riverdale”], popped on-screen to say hello to former co-star, Song. The two worked together for several seasons on “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” and “The Suite Life on Deck,” which aired on the Disney Channel.
Condor joined Song to talk about their recent projects and their experience of being Asian American in the entertainment space. The conversation is heartfelt and gave insight into their portrayal of multi-faceted Asian women on-screen and what it means for young girls and women to see someone like them in lead roles. In addition, they discussed different types of roles, being Asian American in Hollywood, finding the power of “no,” and the importance of having representation in mainstream media.
You can watch Condor and Sprouse in “Moonshot,” which is out on March 31. Song can be seen in Season 2 of “Dollface,” which is now available to stream on Hulu.
