Watch: In the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Simu Liu gets vulnerable with Bear Grylls
Where else can you find the star of Marvel’s Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings plunging into a frozen lake and snacking on frozen maggots? With Bear Grylls, of course! On a recent episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge, Simu Liu joined Grylls in the Canadian Rockies.
In the special episode, Grylls triggered an avalanche to clear the path for both of them to descend a 10,000-foot mountain. In a time of extreme duress and adventure, Liu reveals details about his childhood with his grandparents, and learning how to fend for himself and survive the harsh Canadian winters. Then, on day two, Liu took everything he had learned and took it one step further to complete a challenge not for the faint of heart: plunging into a frozen lake. A superhero in real life indeed!
Next week, Ashton Kutcher will join Grylls on August 8 at 9/8c to challenge the coastal jungles of Costa Rica. From the cold to the tropics! The adventure will begin with a helicopter jump, where they swim ashore and canoe up a river to catch fish for dinner, then rappel down a 300-foot cliff into the jungle.
