From director Tran Thanh (‘Mai‘ and ‘Dad, I’m Sorry’) comes a story that blends romance, family, and friendship, all wrapped up in hilarious chaos. The movie revolves around four misfit friends trying to “solve” a love triangle—a plot that’s as uproarious as it is relatable.
When The 4 Rascals debuted in Vietnam on January 29, it was an instant success, surpassing 100 billion VND (around $4 million) in just three days—breaking records for the fastest film to reach that milestone. By the time it hit its 12th day, the film had earned more than 300 billion VND ($12 million), cementing Tran Thanh as a director with four films now sitting in the Top 5 highest-grossing films of all time in Vietnam.
Tran Thanh has already made history by becoming the first Vietnamese director to have a film surpass the 300 billion VND mark, a feat he’s now achieved with every movie he’s directed.
The film boasts a stellar ensemble of Vietnamese talent, featuring Tran Thanh, Le Duong Bao Lam, Le Giang, Uyen An, Quoc Anh, Tieu Vi, and Ky Duyen. This March, The 4 Rascals will kick off its international release in the U.S., Canada, and 10 European countries (Germany, England, Scotland, Poland, Norway, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Sweden). France and Romania will get their turn on April 18.
