‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Premieres on Prime Video June 17

Key art revealed for the adaptation of Jenny Han's best-selling novel

The series adaption of Jenny Han’s best-selling YA novel is coming to Amazon Prime just in time for the summer. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is a multigenerational drama that centers on a love triangle between a girl and two brothers.

The series looks closely at the changing relationship between a mother and her children and the bond of friendship. It’s a coming-of-age story about first love, the pangs of heartbreak, and the magical season of summer when everything seems perfectly possible. 

Han penned the pilot and heads up the series as showrunner, along with Gabrielle Stanton. Han and Stanton serve as executive producers along with Hope Hartman, Mads Hansen, and Nne Ebong for wiip. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is a co-production of Amazon Studios and wiip.

Han is the best-selling author behind “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” which gave way to three successful Netflix films, all of which she executive produced. Han also serves as executive producer and co-showrunner on the latest “To All the Boys” spinoff, “XO, Kitty.”

Han has inked an overall television and film deal with Amazon Studios, putting her in charge of exclusively creating, developing, and producing Prime Video projects that will premiere in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. It’s all under her production banner – Jenny Kissed Me. Han’s books are so popular, they have been published in more than 30 languages.
