Review: THE RECRUIT – SEASON 2 (2025) | The Spotlight with Kiyra Lynn
Season two of The Recruit plunges rookie CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks (played by Noah Centineo) into even more treacherous international waters. Picking up after the dramatic events of the first season, Owen finds himself embroiled in a high-stakes mission that takes him halfway across the world to South Korea.
We see Owen attempting to prove his worth and competence as a CIA operative after a series of missteps. His primary objective becomes intertwined with the fate of a kidnapped individual with ties to the Korean National Intelligence Service (NIS). Navigating a complex web of alliances and betrayals, Owen must team up with a resourceful but unconventional NIS agent.
Season two tests Owen’s loyalties, his moral compass, and his ability to survive in a world where trust is a rare commodity.
The brilliant mind of creator Alexi Hawley turns up the tension in the show’s sophomore year – and walking the tightrope between light-hearted comedic moments with the dark world of foreign intelligence and covert operations is what Hawley does best.
Centineo brings his boyish charm once again, making his character so likable that the audience forgives him for his major flaws.
The addition of the incredibly talented Teo Yoo injects a fresh and vibrant energy into the show. Yoo’s presence adds layers of intrigue and unexpected charm to the already thrilling narrative.
Prepare for a fun and fascinating journey as Owen navigates new challenges and encounters compelling new faces in this high-stakes season!
The Recruit premieres on Netflix on January 30th.
