The summer may be halfway over, but there are still many movies left to watch before the season is out. Here’s a list of some of the major ones coming soon.

 Barbie

The year’s most anticipated movie finally arrives on July 21. The Greta Gerwig-helmed film stars Margot Robbie in the lead role as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. Barbie features a star-studded cast including Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, American Ferrara, Ariana Greenblatt, and Helen Mirren. The hype for this Warner Bros. Pictures movie is through the stratosphere, and it’s been getting many positive reviews, making it a must-watch!

 Oppenheimer

Universal Pictures is entering the summer movie race with a strong contender in Oppenheimer, which also opens July 21. Oppenheimer tells the story of the scientist behind the Manhattan Project that ultimately led to the creation of the atomic bomb during World War II. Big names are attached to the Christopher Nolan-directed film, including Cillian Murphy in the lead role, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr. The anticipation for this movie is so high it set the internet ablaze with the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon, which led audiences to plan for a double feature at the movies to watch both Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same day and gave rise to hundreds if not thousands of memes online. The film has been well-received by audiences and critics alike, so this one can’t be missed!

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible franchise. The seventh movie, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, opened in theaters July 12 and has been holding on to the number one spot to date. Hayley Atwell co-stars with Cruise in this Paramount Pictures action-packed film.

The theme park ride-inspired film stars Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Winona Ryder, Jared Leto, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Hasan Minhaj, and Jamie Lee Curtis. The story is set in Louisiana and will include many elements that made the Disneyland theme park ride the classic it is. Haunted Mansion hits theaters on July 28.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

The most famous turtles in cinematic history return for another epic adventure in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. The Paramount Pictures animated feature counts on major stars lending their voices to the characters in the film, among them Rose Byrne, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Maya Rudolph, John Cena, and Ice Cube. The turtles kick into action on Aug. 2.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter

The studio king of horror, Universal Pictures, is also jumping into Halloween early this year with The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Archie Madekwe will star as Jann Mardenborough, on whom the story is based. Orlando Bloom and David Harbour round out the top cast. Gran Turismo races into theaters on Aug. 11.

Blue Beetle

Warner Bros. Pictures opened the season with The Flash, but he is not the only superhero in the spotlight this summer. Blue Beetle will debut as the new superhero in the DC movie universe on Aug. 18, with Xolo Maridueña stepping into the lead role of Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle. George Lopez, Becky G, Harvey Guillén, and Susan Sarandon are joining him on this sci-fi action adventure.
