‘Still Working 9 to 5’ debuts this year at SXSW

The documentary features interviews with film stars Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dabney Coleman

The new feature documentary, “Still Working 9 to 5,” is set to make its world premiere at the SXSW festival this year. Dolly Parton is a beloved part of American culture, and the film “9 to 5” has taken its place in annals of greatest hits.

Decades later, the song and lyrics are still timely and considered an anthem for working women. It’s especially poignant in the fight for equality. Now, 40 years later, the documentary “Still Working 9 to 5” puts the iconic film again at the forefront while updating it to include the social impact and environment of today.

“Still Working 9 to 5” brings back megastars Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dabney Coleman from the original film. It includes Rita Moreno from the TV series and Allison Janney from the Broadway musical. The documentary also features activists who have spent decades moving women’s rights forward.

Additionally, if you love Kelly Clarkson, you’ll be in for a treat as she takes the stage with Dolly Parton to sing a new duet version of the original “9 to 5” theme song. Click here to learn more about the film, and check out the newly-released trailer!

The film is executive produced by Steve Summers, Larry Lane, Shane McAnally, Regina K Scully, and Geralyn Dreyfous. Camille Hardman and Gary Lane serve as both directors and producers. Editors Oreet Rees and Elisa Bonora are among the creative team.

SXSW Conference and Festival will be held in its usual Austin, Texas, and will take place from March 11-20, 2022.
