Shirley Kurata discusses fashion, identity, color storytelling, and costume design in I Love Boosters.

Hollywood First Look is with costume designer Shirley Kurata talking about I Love Boosters. The film follows a group of shoplifters who take aim at a cutthroat fashion maven by stealing her clothes and reselling them at lower prices, a concept they call “fashion-forward philanthropy.”
In this interview, Kurata discusses her approach to dressing desire in the film, using color as emotional and psychological storytelling, building tension between identity and presentation, her favorite costume design in the film, and more.
