Robert Pattinson reprises his role in ‘The Batman 2’

Director Matt Reeves will write and produce alongside Dylan Clark

Gotham’s Caped Crusader is back for another round, as “The Batman 2” has been officially greenlit. Both Robert Pattinson and director Matt Reeves are returning for the sequel. The film made over $760 million globally, making it a huge success for Warner Bros. Reeves joined Warner Bros. Pictures Group Chairman Toby Emmerich on stage as he shared the news on April 26 during the Warner Bros. Pictures presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

HBO Max also recently announced an upcoming series starring Colin Farrell as the Penguin – another villain to come out of the universe launched by “The Batman.” It’s no surprise as the film reached a viewership of 4.1M households on HBO Max in its first week.

Reeves is currently reteaming with J.J. Abrams and DC Universe veteran Bruce Timm on the upcoming animated series “Batman: Caped Crusader.” The director says he hopes to “create a Batverse” surrounding Pattinson’s Dark Knight and be able to do multiple iterations and films to tell a multi-layered story.
