Review: Kissing Is the Easy Part (2026) – A glossy teen romance that knows exactly who it’s for

In the Tubi original Kissing Is the Easy Part, Asher Angel and Paris Berelc star as Sean and Flora, two high school students whose deal-driven connection turns into something more complicated. Directed by Fawzia Mirza and adapted by Rebecca Webb from Christine Duann’s popular Wattpad novel, the film follows a classic opposites-attract setup with plenty of charm and romantic tension.

This is definitely one of the better Tubi originals. Angel and Berelc have both been playing teens for years, and while they do look a little too old to still be in high school, they’re also undeniably good in these kinds of roles. They have chemistry, they look great on screen together, and most importantly, they know how to sell the emotional beats.

Mirza brings a strong storytelling background to the film. She previously directed The Queen of My Dreams and also worked on Deli Boys, and you can feel that character-driven sensibility here. This project comes from Christine Duann’s Wattpad story, which had a massive built-in audience before becoming a film, so it makes sense as a smart pick for the young adult demographic Tubi is clearly trying to reach.

The lessons in the film are valuable for its audience, especially when it comes to identity, communication, and figuring out what you actually want out of a relationship. That said, there have been stronger entries in this genre. The To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise still sets a higher bar emotionally and tonally, but this movie understands its audience and gives them something sweet, polished, and easy to watch.

Kissing Is the Easy Part is streaming on Tubi, February 13th.
