Pechanga Resort Casino has joined many others in Southern California in expressing their support for the Monterey Park community after the mass shooting that occurred at a Lunar New Year celebration at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio on Jan. 21.
Mark Macarro, Pechanga Tribal Chairman, expressed gratitude for the support Pechanga Resort Casino has received from the Monterey Park community in the past and expressed his sadness over the tragic events that unfolded there last week.
“Pechanga has made great friends and acquaintances through Monterey Park’s Lunar New Year Festival. Like so many throughout California, we are deeply saddened by this tragedy and extend our deepest condolences and support for the victims.”
In solidarity with the affected families and the community, The Pechanga Band of Indians contributed $100,000 to the Monterey Park Lunar New Year Victims Fund.
