New Trailer for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Unites Fox Marvel & Disney’s MCU

We finally have a new trailer for the most anticipated duo of the summer, Deadpool & Wolverine.

Ryan Reynolds steps into the shoes of Marvel’s famous merc with a mouth again, and this time, he seeks help from none other than X-Men’s Wolverine, the hero he has often bad-mouthed yet obsessed over in previous films. Hugh Jackman picks up the suit once more to become Wolverine, making his highly anticipated return.

In the trailer, Deadpool is seen threatening/recruiting a Wolverine who appears to be on a different timeline than his own (think Loki’s TVA [Time Variance Authority] timelines) to save his world, which is in peril. The trailer is packed with easter eggs such as a 20th Century Fox sign buried deep in snow in the background of a fight scene, a clear nod to the studio behind the original X-Men movies that was bought out by Disney in 2019. There are also glimpses of a giant Ant-Man skeleton and a shot of Deadpool and Wolverine jumping through a portal like the ones seen in the Doctor Strange movies. These easter eggs show the integration of the former Fox Marvel universe with Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Returning to reprise their roles are Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney as Peter, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, and Lewis Tan as Shatterstar. The film will also feature appearances from former Fox Marvel heroes, including Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Aaron Stanford as Pyro, as well as rumored appearances from Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Josh Brolin as Cable, according to IMDb. Newcomer Matthew Macfayden will portray Mr. Paradox, who appears to be a TVA agent in the trailer.

Deadpool & Wolverine will jump into action in theaters on July 26.
