Maren Morris Unveils New Songs for DreamWorks’ ‘The Wild Robot’ – A Melodic Tribute to a Beloved Tale

Maren Morris has announced two new tracks, which are set to soar in DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming film, The Wild Robot. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has penned two original songs,Kiss the SkyandEven When I’m Not,exclusively for this highly anticipated adaptation of Peter Brown’s best-selling, award-winning novel.

Morris’s first single,Kiss the Sky,will be released along with its visually stunning music video on August 28. This track, crafted to accompany a breathtaking seven-minute scene in the film featuring a dramatic goose migration, is more than just a song. It’s a powerful emotional journey that seamlessly integrates with the film’s score, composed by Oscar® winner Kris Bowers, adding a profound emotional depth to this pivotal sequence.

Following that, Morris’s second track,Even When I’m Not,will be featured in the film’s end credits and interwoven with the movie’s final score cues. The full soundtrack, including both tracks, will be available on September 27, coinciding with the film’s theatrical release.

Morris, known for her profound impact on the music industry with a Grammy Award, seventeen nominations, and multiple wins at the Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association, and Billboard Music Awards, has poured her heart into these new compositions. She shared,I was so emotionally moved by this story as a mother. Writing the songs for this film was such an honor because it made me feel even closer to my son, especially when I’m touring and sometimes have to be far away from him.”

The Wild Robot, directed by three-time Oscar® nominee Chris Sanders, is a captivating tale that follows Roz, a robot stranded on an uninhabited island, who must navigate the challenges of her new environment and build unexpected relationships with the island’s animal inhabitants. The film features an all-star voice cast, including Academy Award® winner Lupita Nyong’o, Emmy nominee Pedro Pascal, and Oscar® nominees Bill Nighy and Stephanie Hsu.

Morris collaborated with a team of co-writers, including Ali Tamposi, Michael Pollack, Delacey, Jordan Johnson, Stefan Johnson, and Isaiah Tejada, with production duo The Monsters & Strangerz also contributing their expertise to both tracks.
