Lightsabers out: ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Premiere Date Set

The series debuts Wednesday before Memorial Day weekend

“Star Wars” fans, are you ready for the next series installment on Disney+? Mark your calendars because May 25 is when the fantastical world of George Lucas comes to life again.

The new series, “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” sees actor Ewan McGregor return as the younger Obi-Wan while Hayden Christensen will again reprise his role as Darth Vader. The cast also includes Sung Kang, Joel Edgerton, and “Eternals” star Kumail Nanjiani.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek also revealed the new poster for the “Star Wars” series. The premiere date has a special meaning: It’s the day George Lucas’ original 1977 film “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” debuted more than 45 years ago.
