‘King Kong’ TV Series headed to Disney+
A monster hit is headed to Disney+, and fans of the iconic King Kong will have something to look forward to. According to Deadline, deals have been closed for the project from James Wan’s Atomic Monster, making this the first live-action series in the King Kong universe.
The series will be written by Stephany Folsom, and will bring the classic film to the modern age with Skill Island as the backdrop of the new Kong. The series will focus on the mythology of King Kong’s origins and the magical powers of his home.
Folsom will serve as executive producer alongside Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett for Atomic Monster and Dannie Festa, and Marc Manus for World Builder Entertainment.
