Jo Koy’s ‘Easter Sunday’ is in theaters this Friday

Who’s ready for an in-depth, authentic look at Filipino Americans on the national stage through the lens of funnyman Jo Koy? We ARE!! Jo Koy’s Easter Sunday releases this Friday, August 5.

Described as a “love letter to immigrants,” the film is Koy’s first foray into the cinema space after a successful run of Netflix comedy specials. The film stars Koy as a flustered Los Angeles father/comedian who takes his teenage son to visit their Filipino American relatives in Daly City, where hijinks ensue.

Koy still can’t believe that a film based in part on his life actually happened, complete with a cameo with Tiffany Haddish. Tia Carrere and Lou Diamond Phillips also star. The movie is rated PG-13 with mostly a Filipino American cast. Koy’s fourth Netflix comedy show will be released on September 13.
