Hollywood heartthrob and Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding is starring in a new film from Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo, a sci-fi romance called Daniela Forever.
The film is set to shoot this spring in Madrid, Spain. In it, Golding plays a man who struggles with the sudden death of his girlfriend, who passed away in an accident six months prior. He then signs up for a sleep trial. Through the use of lucid dreams, the trial allows him to reconstruct his life.
“This movie is built around a deeply human character trapped in a twisted plot, something Henry Golding is so perfect for this almost feels unreal,” Vigalondo said in an article for Deadline. “I’m enthusiastic about the team gathered around this project, and I hope the story delivers everything I want to say about love, dreams, and Madrid.”
Golding just finished filming Netflix’s Old Guard 2 alongside Oscar winner Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman and also played a lead role in the thriller Assassin Club for Paramount. Next up, Golding will star in the WW2 pic Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare with Guy Ritchie at the helm.
