‘DC League of Super-Pets’ Celebrates Lunar New Year

The Warner Bros. animation film sends a pawsitive message for the occasion

Ahead of its May 20 release date, “DC League of Super-Pets” is dropping a little teaser video for fans in honor of the Lunar New Year. The animated action-adventure feature film based on DC Comics stars Dwayne Johnson as Krypto the Super-Dog. Krypto shares his superpowers with his best friend and fellow Metropolis crime-fighter, the lovable Superman (played by John Krasinski).

After Superman and the other Justice League members are kidnapped, Krypto calls on a rag-tag shelter pack to channel their powers and help him rescue the superheroes. The movie also features Ace the hound (Kevin Hart), PB the potbellied pig (Vanessa Bayer), Merton the turtle (Natasha Lyonne), and Chip the squirrel (Diego Luna).

2022’s Chinese New Year and Spring Festival ushers in the Year of the Tiger, which is third in the 12-animal Chinese zodiac cycle. The Feb. 1 date falls on the second new moon after the winter solstice, welcoming a new year that is said to be linked with power and adventure.

In this sweet clip, you can see why the Year of the Tiger is perfectly aligned with the “DC League of Super-Pets” and their mission. Get a look at their explosive Lunar New Year message.
