First Look: Prime Video debuts new featurette for ‘Thirteen Lives’

In a new featurette, Thirteen Lives – Anatomy of a Miracle, viewers get more insight on what they can expect from Ron Howard’s upcoming film based on the true story of the Thai soccer team who became trapped in the Tham Luang cave during an unexpected rainstorm in 2018.

The 18-day rescue mission was helmed by a team of the world’s most skilled and experienced divers – each with special skills that allowed them to navigate the maze of flooded, narrow cave tunnels. Joined with Thai forces and 10,000 volunteers worldwide, they all came together to save the twelve boys and their coach.

With the odds against them and the whole world watching, this harrowing tale of real-life heroes breaks down the miraculous story of what happened when people put their lives and hearts on the line.

Ron Howard directs the script penned by William Nicholson. The story is by Nicholson and Don Macpherson. Executive producers Jon Kuyper, Carolyn Marks Blackwood, Marie Savare, Michael Lesslie, Aaron L. Gilbert, and Jason Cloth are joined by producers P.J. van Sandwijk, Gabrielle Tana, Karen Lunder, William M. Connor, Brian Grazer, and Ron Howard.

The all-star cast includes Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, Tom Bateman, Paul Gleeson, Pattrakorn Tungsupakul, Tui Thiraphat Sajakul, James Teeradon Supapunpinyo, Sahajak Boonthanakit, and Weir Sukollawat Kanaros.

Thirteen Lives is in select theaters in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago on July 29 exclusively for one week only and will be available to stream on Prime Video globally on August 5.
