An entire generation grew up cheering on Mario and Luigi on the Nintendo game system and now the movie is almost here! And by almost we mean April 7, 2023, but check out the brand new teaser poster that just dropped!
On Thursday, October 6, coinciding with New York Comic Con, Nintendo Direct is expected to Livestream the trailer and potentially offer up more information about the upcoming movie. Until then, the poster seems to be hinting at some subtle clues super fans are already picking up on.
The film stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, and Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, among others!
The film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic and written by Matthew Fogel. It’s produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be released worldwide by Universal Pictures.
