First Look: ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ drops official trailer
The Prime Video series premieres on June 17
The official trailer is here! Cue screaming. The love story of the summer is inching closer to its debut, and we are here for it! New York Times bestselling author Jenny Han [To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before] continues her winning streak with “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” highlighting 16-year-old Belly’s coming-of-age story.
From the looks of the trailer, it’s got all the right ingredients Han’s YA audience craves. Vacations, friendship, first love, heartbreak: did we mention it includes a first look at Taylor Swift’s “This Love (Taylor’s Version)?”
The seven-episode drama series features Belly [Lola Tung] in a love triangle with Conrad [Christopher Briney] and Jeremiah [Gavin Caslengo]. “The Summer I turned Pretty” also stars David Iacono as Cam, Jackie Chung as Laurel, Rachel Blanchard as Susannah, Sean Kaufman as Steven, Minnie Mills as Shayla, Alfredo Narciso as Cleveland, Summer Madison as Nicole, Rain Spencer as Taylor, Tom Everett Scott as Adam Fisher, and Colin Ferguson as John Conklin.
Han’s books are so popular that they’ve been published in more than 30 languages. The author wrote the pilot and serves as showrunner alongside Gabrielle Stanton. Han, Stanton, and Karen Rosenfelt executive produce, along with Hope Hartman, Mads Hansen, and Nne Ebong for wiip.
The series is a co-production of Amazon Studios and wiip.
