First Look: Star Wars ‘Andor’ trailer is here
Disney+ debuts trailer and key art during 2022 Star Wars Celebration
The wait is over! The first trailer for the live-action “Star Wars” show “Andor” was released during the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, and fans are over the moon.
The new original series will premiere on Disney+ on August 31, with two episodes. “Andor” takes place before “Rogue One” and follows the adventures of Rebel Alliance agent Cassian Andor. The series will span 12 episodes. After its premiere, episodes will drop weekly.
Diego Luna will return to his role in “Rogue One,” exploring a new perspective from the “Star Wars” galaxy. The Lucasfilm series takes Cassian five years back before the events in “Rogue One,” diving into the expanding rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved.
Disney+’s first live-action Star Wars show, “The Mandalorian,” was a massive hit when it aired in 2019, spawning the spinoff “The Book of Boba Fett” last year. “Andor” is likely to fall right in line with its predecessors. The Star Wars Celebration, which takes place from May 26-29 this year, has been updating announcements by the moment. The play-by-play has been a force that has “Star Wars” fans worldwide waiting on bated breath.
Luna is joined by Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller on screen. Executive producers Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna, and Michelle Rejwan are on board, along with Tony Gilroy, the creator and showrunner.
It has been announced that a second part of “Andor” is in the works, with another 12 episodes to follow.
