The generation who grew up with Clerks has anxiously awaited the third installment of the cult classic, and today, they finally got a taste of what to expect. Director Kevin Smith has unveiled the first trailer (in an Instagram Live) for the upcoming threequel, Clerks III. It’s the final film in the series and will conclude the story that took on a life of its own at Sundance back in 1994.
Lionsgate will be premiering the film exclusively in theaters for two nights this fall, in partnership with Fathom Events. Clerks III will be shown in more than 700 U.S. theaters at 7 pm on September 13 and 15, complete with a sneak peek behind the scenes with Smith and the cast. Smith then takes his film on the ‘Convenience Tour’ roadshow. That begins on September 4 in New Jersey and runs through October.
Smith is billed as writer and director. Liz Destro and Smodco’s Jordan Monsanto serve as producers. Clerks III stars Rosario Dawson. Randal (Jeff Anderson), (Brian O’Halloran), Elias (Trevor Fehrman), Jay (Jason Mewes), and Silent Bob (Smith) are all featured, along with the convenience store where it all began.
