FIRST LOOK: ‘Fly Me to the Moon’

The world has been abuzz with the excitement surrounding the total solar eclipse of April 8. Timing it perfectly with this major cosmic event, Apple Original Films with Sony Pictures Entertainment have just released the trailer for their upcoming space film Fly Me to the Moon.

Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum lead the cast as Kelly Jones, marketing maven, and Cole Davis, NASA launch director. The comedy-drama sees Jones being hired to fix NASA’s public image and, in doing so, wreaking havoc on Davis’s already difficult task of making the Apollo 11 moon landing a success. Things get more complicated when the White House decides the mission is too important to fail, leading to Jones being directed to stage a fake moon landing as a backup plan should the Apollo 11 mission fail.

Jim Rash, Ray Romano, and Woody Harrelson join Johansson and Tatum in the cast, with Greg Berlanti directing. Johansson is producing with Jonathan Lia, Keenan Flynn, and Sarah Schechter. Robert J. Dohrmann is serving as executive producer.

Fly Me to the Moon is based on a story by Bill Kirstein & Keenan Flynn and is expected to launch exclusively in theaters in July.
