Warner Bros. Pictures has released the official teaser trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux, the follow-up to Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker.
The trailer shows superstar Lady Gaga in her co-starring role as the infamous Harley Quinn, Joker’s notorious better (or worse) half. Gaga joins Phoenix, who reprises his role as Joker. In the trailer, the duo is seen having what appears to be their first encounter in Arkham Asylum, followed by a series of scenes alternating between their stay in the asylum, performing on a stage, and wreaking havoc in public, all set to the backdrop of Hal David and Burt Bacharach’s “What the World Needs Now is Love.”
Todd Phillips is returning to direct this next chapter, and he is also returning as a writer alongside Scott Silver and Bob Kane.
Joker: Folie à Deux will hit theaters on Oct. 4.
