Mark your calendars! May 24 is the date for the highly anticipated Disney+ Original series American Born Chinese. The series will feature Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and guest star Oscar nominee Stephanie Hsu.
Based on the novel penned by Gene Luen Yang, American Born Chinese tells the story of a young teenager named Jin Wang, who juggles school and home life. Things change when he meets a new foreign student, and their worlds collide as Jin is thrust into a world of Chinese mythological gods and the present.
The series also includes Yeo Yann Yann, Chin Han, and Daniel Wu. Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton will helm the series and will also serve as executive producer along with Melvin Mar and Jake Kasdan, Erin O’Malley, and Asher Goldstein.
