Lionsgate has released the first image of Adele Lim’s Joy Ride. Ashley Park (Emily in Paris), Sherry Cola (Good Trouble), Oscar nominee Stephanie Hsu (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), and Sabrina Wu will star in the raunchy comedy.
The film follows the story of Audrey (Park) as she embarks on an adventure and journey of self-discovery after a business trip to Asia doesn’t go as planned. She enlists the help of three friends, Lolo (Cola), her childhood best friend who is a hot mess, Kat (Hsu), her college friend turned Chinese soap star, and Deadeye (Wu), Lolo’s eccentric cousin. Together, the unlikely group of friends goes on an epic international adventure that becomes a journey of bonding, friendship, belonging, and wild debauchery, which reveals what it means to know and love who you are, per the film synopsis.
Other stars joining the cast are Ronny Chieng (Crazy Rich Asians), Desmond Chiam (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Alexander Hodge (Insecure), and Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians).
The producers of Neighbors are producing Joy Ride, and the film was written by the co-screenwriter of Crazy Rich Asians.
