Just off of last year’s success of Universal Pictures’ Wicked — a film that won the hearts of audiences, broke box office records, and became the most successful Broadway film adaptation in history — the second chapter, Universal’s Wicked: For Good, arrives in theaters on November 21. And now, the most OZmazing thing has happened thanks to director Jon M. Chu and Lexus.
The collaboration with the Award-winning director and Lexus has given us a 30-second TV spot featuring the 2025 Lexus LX, along with Jon M. Chu, his wife Kristin Chu, and their daughter Stevie Sky Chu (who was born last November on the same day as Wicked’s Los Angeles premiere), called “Magic in the Air.”
Chu and his family invite viewers to “Experience OZmazing” as they ride around in the Lexus LX, while “For Good” plays — the new movie’s moving anthem. The Wicked-inspired ad, running on Peacock, YouTube, and Amazon through December 4, aims to get audiences in the mood for what’s to come on the big screen this fall.
At the heart of this spot, much like Wicked, lies Chu’s ability to tell an emotional story — one of transformation, family, and connection. He creates a visual masterpiece with authenticity, and that shines through in this exploration of whimsical magic found within the Emerald City.
