Exclusive Orange County Screening Sets the Stage for HBO’s ‘The Sympathizer’

A Star-Studded Celebration with Max and Special Guests

In advance of the April 14 premiere, special guests came out to celebrate HBO’s Limited Series, “The Sympathizer,” on April 5 in Orange County, Calif.

Max collaborated with Gold House, A24, Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE), and Vietnamese American Arts & Letters Association (VAALA) to host an early screening of the show, aimed at engaging the Vietnamese and AAPI communities authentically.

Attendees enjoyed the special premiere and the first 50 guests received a copy of the novel. The event also featured a panel discussion with Pulitzer Prize-winning Author and Executive Producer Viet Thanh Nguyen, along with cast members Hoa Xuande, Fred Nguyen Khan, Duy Nguyen, Toan Le, Ky Duyen, Kieu Chinh, and Sandra Oh, moderated by Jeremy Tran, COO of Gold House.

Don’t miss the premiere of “The Sympathizer” on Sunday, April 14 on HBO, with streaming available on Max.
