Asian Americans in media are more prominent than ever, and this weekend, the Asia Society Southern California held its 2022 Entertainment Summit honoring Ms. Marvel. The award was accepted by EP/Comic Book creator Sanat Amanat.
Everything Everywhere All at Once filmmakers, aka “the Daniels” or Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, and producer Jonathan Wang also received the Entertainment Game Changers awards that were presented by actor Ke Huy Quan. Director Park Chan-wook of this year’s Decision to Leave also received kudos for his exemplary work.
Randall Park, Bowen Yang, and Jimmy O. Yang presented the Comedy Spotlight Award to Sherry Cola. 88rising also received an Entertainment Game Changer Award, and ASSC’s Entertainment Summit Chair and President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Janet Yang was honored with a Career Achievement Award.
