Disney Junior Orders Second Season Of ‘Mira, Royal Detective’

“Mira, Royal Detective” is set to debut on Disney Junior in the spring of 2020, and a second season has already been ordered for the animated show, ahead of the series premiere. A select audience received the news firsthand during a special advance screening of the new show in Burbank, California, on December 11. The announcement was handed down by Joe D’Ambrosia, senior vice president, Original Programming and general manager, Disney Junior.

The animated series centers on Mira (Leela Ladnier), a young girl who ends up becoming a royal detective in India after solving a mystery that saved the kingdom’s young prince. Mira takes young viewers on adventures that highlight critical thinking and encourage deductive reasoning. Mira is joined by an array of characters that include her friend Prince Neel (Kamran Lucas), her creative cousin Priya (Roshni Edwards), and comical mongoose sidekicks Mikku (Kal Penn) and Chikku (Utkarsh Ambudkar). Episodes feature two 11-minute stories. Every episode celebrates the cultures and customs of India by incorporating authentic storytelling, music, food, fashion, language, art, and dance.
