DC Comics to feature AAPI characters on covers in May

The new series starts May 17

Representation matters and DC Comics is making sure to include Asian Americans this year. May is AAPI Heritage Month and DC recently announced they will release a collection of AAPI themed variant covers that will be created by Asian Americans to honor this month.
They will also reveal a new series titled, “Duo,” created by Denys Cowan and current Milestone relaunch shepherd Reginald Hudlin. It has two Asian-Americans as lead characters doctors Kelly Vu and David Kim, a husband and wife team of biotech scientists. Way to go, DC!
The superheroes are part of the “Earth-M” line story and will be featured in a six-issue series. It’s written by Greg Pak and illustrated by Vietnamese artists Khoi Pham and Scott Hanna. “Duo” features superheroes who are Asian doctors, Vietnamese American Kelly Vu, and Korean American David Kim, who fuse into one after researching and experimenting with nanotechnology.

A few of the AAPI characters that will be featured on the themed DC covers include Monkey King and Green Arrow.
