Dave Bautista returns to action in Afterburn, a post-apocalyptic thriller based on the Red 5 Comics series. Set ten years after a solar flare wiped out most of Earth’s technology, the film follows Jake, a former soldier turned treasure hunter, on a dangerous mission to recover the Mona Lisa from a devastated Europe.
What starts as a quest for a priceless artifact soon turns into something bigger, as Jake realizes the world needs a hero more than it needs the legendary painting.
The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson as a freedom fighter and Olga Kurylenko in a supporting role. With its mix of high-stakes action, haunting landscapes, and powerhouse performances, Afterburn promises a ride that’s equal parts adrenaline and heart.
Afterburn is in theaters September 19, 2025.
