It’s official! The phenom K-pop group BTS is set to enlist in the South Korean Army. BTS’ record label, Big Hit Entertainment, formally announced that the group’s seven members would complete their required military service. Jin will be the first to enlist following the release of his upcoming solo song at the end of the month. The remaining six members will enlist throughout the following several years based on their unique schedules.
All seven BTS members will complete their required military service in South Korea over the coming years, prolonging the group’s previously stated break until 2025. Fortunately for that crucial other ARMY, the revelation doesn’t indicate that BTS won’t continue to exist in some manner.
The members of the group will be permitted to participate in particular “national-level” activities even after they finish their duty.
In South Korea, it is typical for men to enlist at age 28 for a 21-month tour of duty. The BTS staff has also searched for exceptions and solutions for the members to fulfill their service requirements in different capacities. A few BTS members who are older than that have been given more time.
