Amandla Stenberg Celebrates Premiere of ‘The Acolyte’ at Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Amandla Stenberg visited Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on Tuesday to celebrate the premiere of The Acolyte, which premieres on Disney+ on June 4.
Stenberg delighted fans attending Disneyland during Season of the Force by taking pictures in front of a wall of light sabers and stormtroopers. In celebration of Lucasfilm’s new live-action series, Disney+ also released a new clip of a fight scene between Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae’s characters Mae and Sol.
The Acolyte starts with a shocking crime spree that pits a respected Jedi Master, Sol, against a dangerous warrior from his past Mae. As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal not everything is what it seems, according to the media release.
Joining Stenberg and Jung-jae in The Acolyte is a star-studded cast including Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
Leslye Headland created the series based on George Lucas’ Star Wars, directed the premiere episodes, and served as executive producer. Other directors of the series were Kogonada, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Hanelle Culpepper. Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef served as executive producers along with Headland. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana joined them as co-executive producers.
